How we have handled the issue of fur clothing?

Our journey to the infinite space or the 2717 ft building does little to know that real advancement has to start from the place we inhabit, earth. It is ironic that the more we advance the lesser our humanity deteriorate. The issue of fur clothing has been in existence for a long time now. Countries like Britain have banned fur industry. The real concern of the issue of fur clothing is of how we have handled the matter.

One of the most prominent fashion designers, John Galliano a few days ago become the first to stop using fur in his line of work. This opens up a serious of questions. Apart from the unimaginable pain, habitat animals are forced to succumb we still dream of having a fur jacket or a mink coat every birthday or Christmas, why? Because of such clothing represents status, power, wealth.

In India, a superstar has been convicted for 5 years because he shot dead two blackbucks. A breed of animal which are not only endangered but sacred to the Bishnoi Community. The conviction has led to both celebrations and opposition. Given the lopsided judicial system, many has termed it biased. But what many fail to notice within this turmoil is how the particular type of community has without any confinement or atrocity build a strong bond with the wild animals. Humans benefit the world when there is a mutual coexistence with nature.

The issue of the ban of fur clothing has everything to do with the environment as a whole. While some argue the use of animal products are a by-product of deceased animals. It is, but only to a very tiny immeasurable amount. The ugly truth is mass animal farms with unimaginable living conditions suffering excruciating torture and pain.

We have no one by ourselves to blame for what we have done to the world. The next time you sashay down the road in your new fur clothing, remember you are the reason why there is limited clean water. Why there is no clean air to breathe. Because fur amounts to fur farms equals to dangerous components(phosphorus) which equals to polluting rivers and streams.

It is never too late for realization or empathy to dawn in. Recently Switzerland considered boiling lobsters alive an animal cruelty. Many have argued that animal can feel no pain, it might it might not. But the real question is, will you take the chances? And most importantly, we are an animal who knows what emotion and sentiment is. So, to pass on pain to the supposedly animal who experience no pain will be completely inhumane of us.

The issue of fur clothing opens up old wounds to the whole of the animal kingdom. If it is not our duty to pass on down our future generations that is okay not to wear fur clothing, than who will?

Recently, the Eastern cougars was declared extinct so are a lists of various animals endangered. Let us not amke the same mistake for the sake of a fur clothing. Say no to any fur clothing!
